It's awesome. The place is fascinating. The scenery is phenomenal. Looking out to the Golden Gate Bridge, or downtown San Fran. If I was a prisoner back in the day it would of driven me nuts to be so close to freedom. They said if the winds were right on New Years eve you could hear laughter and music from the mainland. The island sits 1.25 out from downtown.

Awesome Al. I know that from my uncle's place, you walk out into the street, look down the street, and there it is. I haven't seen that view in quite a while though.

Yea, cool town. Me and the wife were just there about a year ago. It was like a 4 day wait to get tickets for Alcatraz. Seen lombard, chinatown, fishermans wharf, and everything. One really cool place is North beach. It is the Italian part of town. Went there and had some unbelievable food! Drove just south to Carmel, and Monteray. Drove around Pebble Beach. They even had the Concourse Delegance going on then. North side, we went to Napa valley, and seen Infineon Raceway. Way cool!

I did the Alcatraz tour this summer. It is pretty awesome to see that stuff in person.

I hated San Francisco though. The entire city smelled like urine and I thought it was a shithole.
