    Grove Creek renovations

A friend of mine who used to work there said the starting line will be moved 20' farther forward, first 300' of the strip will be new concrete and the lanes will be wider. Also said the dirt track that has sat idle for a couple years is going to be taken out for more parking/camping/less dirt blowing and posibility of showers.

Supposedly spending 300K on the project, I hope the shut down gets lenghtened out a bit.

Haven't you scene the Fast and Furious? You always set up a drag race with railroad tracks at the end. Then if you win you get to get away from the police.

my low powered car did not hook well at all. not to mention the first 100ft you enquire two different elevations of pavement. right when they stop spinning you hit a bump in the road i hope it will be better but i'd like more power down room as well. i know i had to jump on the brakes everytime i made a pass.

Uh oh, now we have a "I can't hook there" thread. I've always hooked at Grove Creek. 1.5x's all day.

I like that place. The night racing is awesome!

I've only been there on street tires so i really don't hook anyways but i hope they widen the lanes enough to drive around the water box on the street nights.

Have never been there, but was thinking about visiting a few times this season.

Not sure I can get all excited over an 1/8th though. We'll see.
