Anyone have access to a large parking lot? For our may meet...

I'm currently on the hunt for anyone who can donate a large parking lot that can host our first official Twin Cities Mustangs meet/car show sometime in mid to late may. Hopefully someone knows someone who has access to a large parking lot.

Some possibilities; a church lot, someone who works for a company that gives everyone the weekends off, someone who has a local park with a large lot, a college/school lot. Lots of cities have large parks for baseball/softball/soccer that might be open on a saturday.

    This is what is required:

--At least parking for 50 cars
--Needs to be totally empty on a Saturday afternoon from 10am till 7pm
--Who ever owns the parking lot will not hassle us or want to put their hands in its organization
--We actually have permission to hold a car show
--Located somewhere in the Twin Cities Metro area, suburbs are ok

Thats about it, all we really need is a place to park the cars. We will bring portable tents, grilles, and everything else we need. I'm TOTALY open to suggestions so if anybody has any input on how we should get the lot, please chime in.

    Thanks.

There's a shut down K-mart down here who's parking lot would offer minimal interference. HOWEVER, it is of minimal maintenace and may not look "purdy" in the pictures.

Bonuses of the location: Arby's, Boston Chicken, Leanne Chin's, Chipotle, Subway, and Perkins are all with in walking distance.

There is a Church lot right behind my house. Has ample parking. If you give me a date, I can contact the church and see if they have anything planned for that day. And its right in the heart of Maple Grove too. Chipotle is right there.

Let's shoot for the metro area where we'll get the largest turnout.

Just out of curiosity, what would one of the local ford dealers say (not necessarily american ford)? Most are closed on sundays, and I would think if 50 mustang owners wanted to have a carshow at a ford dealer, they'd be all over moving some cars around there lot for room on a saturday (they love foot-traffic).

Also, the mall of america has a HUGE open lot right out front which doesn't always get many cars in it (other than between thanksgiving through xmas), they may be open to something like that as well, and ya know how much traffic that place gets

          Just a couple ideas...

A Ford Dealership sounds like an interesting idea, and most likely they will be up for that.

dealership might be hard, being they already have a shit load of cars there

we just need something central for everyone driving wise

I don't know about doing one with a ford dealer, just for the fact that I don't want anyone looking over our shoulders the entire time. And i dont want it to be overly organized.

Id like to keep the first meet more laid back and fun. Id like a place where we could goof around and not get yelled at.

I like the idea of the curch lots.

I dont know if a empty Kmart lot would be a good idea UNLESS we get permission. I should have added in my list of critera that we actually have clearence to hold a meet there.

For the ford dealer idea, Toulsey Ford is right up here in white bear lake, they have a lot of land, and lots of food places near by.

                        But whatever!

North river hills park near my house in burnsvile has ample parking space and has a warming house for a party inside and grilling outside with a huge park. Have more then enough space for all are cars and im sure you could rent out the whole park but im not sure. Talk to the city of burnsville and ask them how it could happen. Id really concider it, also there is a big church parking lot off of cliff road and cedar(77) that could hold all are cars. That would be are best bet, right off a mayjor highway that everyone should know how to get on, easy enough to get onto from 35w to portland and then portland to cedar. Take good concideration of these spots
