Lame. I hate Simon and all that he brings. Wild dropped the ball this deadline. All of the top Western teams got some nice talent and depth that are really going to pay off in the playoffs. Wild sit on their hands once again.

What an incredibly stupifying move from any aspect.... I think Risebrough will be on KFan in a little while, can't wait to hear the reasoning behind trading for a 36 yr old 8 time suspended thug....

Is this anything new for Minnesota teams in general though? We never open up the bank account and get some quality talent when it comes down to the line.

We have the most frugal owners out there.

6th rounder, and I'd rather take whoever that becomes over Simon.

We need a goon to open up the ice for the scorers. Fedoruk is more of an agitator now than a fighter after Boogard caved his face in a couple years ago. Boogard has been hurt all year, and obviously the Wild don't feel he is gonna make a sufficient comeback this year. It's a relatively low risk move, and we didn't have to give up any good young players. We have a solid nucleus, just need to get back in the groove and win some games. I still think we will win the division. Most times a late season big name acquisition does nothing and they are high risk moves when that player is a free agent.

True, But Federov or Hossa would have been a huge upgrade here...

After seeing what the Pens gave up for hossa, I don't think the Wild would have been on the good-side of a deal for him. SirGay on the other hand, we prob. could have gotten for a decent price.
