just got laid off posibly for good for a few months. Construction industry is so SLOW. Any one hiring or know of a good job opertunity im looking to make a switch or at least get paid on a regular basis.

yea i make more than that on umemployment i was the lead on my crew, i know that im not going to get that kind of pay but is that all people are paying these days?

Yea just got it budy....I have done construction for the better part of 5 years i have done cabinets and also office work when i was in college... I just want something decent..

hey scott, there is some sort of full time position open at my work. i think it is something with the used car dept.. not selling cars, i'm not exactly sure what it would be doing, but there is a note posted about it. it's a union shop. pm me if you want a name and phone #. oh and it's down in minnetonka, about a 30 minute drive from mike's.

I hate to say it, but the construction industry is not slow, or I would be slow. You are just not living in the right area for the industry at the time of year.

well with the housing market taking a royal shit, they should be building less houses. don't know if that's the kind of construction he was in.. but i've thought before all the housebuilders must be fucked right now.

yea i had worked for the same residential home builder for my whole career... we really didnt build anything smaller than 500,000....we would all say that our market wouldnt go under but sure as shit im eating my words..We mostly did the framing and window installation,decks and other misc. once and a while.. i really just need to find something till i enroll in school in the fall but if i can work something out that would be great unemployment SUCKS!

I just saw a add in the local paper today looking for framers. I thought it seamed a little odd looking for construction workers in the winter while the economy and housing market suck.

It's because framers doesn't necessarily mean residential. I'm in the construction industry and am busier than I have ever been in the last 7 years.
