I got my first ticket today.... I thought I would take the mustang for a spin in this nice whether... and I got picked up for speeding... $280 fine. Im going to go talk to the prosecutor and hope to get a no like or similar and have it stay off my record.... I guess I shouldn't hold my breath....

most times your first ticket will not go on your record if you show up to court. you have to pay like $50 for court fees. You should be fine!

I know I was speeding but I didnt think I was going 80 by any means.... it dont matter I was still speeding I just hope it doesnt go on my record...

Not sure but It seems for speeding tickets after you turn 18 they dont usally give you probation but Iam not sure..... Good luck anyways!!!

I think im going to contest it.... he pulled me over for street racing but gave me a ticket for speeding... after paying more attention and actually thinking about it.... I was in second gear when pulled over.... the car doesnt do 80 in second.

Dakota County seems to be more reasonable than Hennepin. (I'm not sure which county you were in.)

I'll always go in, you never know and it can make a huge difference overall.

Do you have a CDL? If so you aint getting out of it. They can't give you a no same or similar anymore. If you don't your in better shape. Your getting screwed on fine I got 99 in a 65 in hennipen county and paid 217. If you talk to a hearing officer find out any notes the officer added. Because if sreet racing is in the notes you might be fucked. Sometimes just taking the straight speeding is the better deal. That's what happened in my case. Cause theprosecuter can bring extra charges I.E. careless wreckless etc.

Good Luck it's a pain in the ass but it's always worth going to court.

If your record is clean, call down there and ask how to apply for a "Continuance for Dismissal". You still pay, but it doesn't go on your record unless you get another ticket within a year.
