HI ALL I JUST WANTED TO PUT THIS OUT THERE WATCH OUT FOR COUNTERFIT $100 BILLS.

I HAVE A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE AND YOU MIGHT KNOW HIM HE IS THE OWNER OF A SHOP CALL (HOT HEADS BY FRANK).

HE SOLD A MOTOR TO A GUY AND PAY WITH CASH 100 BILLS. SO FRANK MADE A RECIPT FOR THE SALE GOT THE GUY TO SIGN IT BUT WHO KNOWS IF IT'S HIS REAL NAME OR NOT.

SO FRANK WENT TO THE BANK TO DEPOSIT THE MONEY INTO HIS ACCOUNT THE TELLER CHECK THE BILL WITH THE BLACK MARKER THAT THEY USE AND IT DIDN'T SEEM TO PASS SO THE BANK TELLER TOOK A PURPLE LIGHT TO THE BILL AND IT DIDN'T PASS

SO THIS MAKE THE BANK TELLER SUSPICIOUS SO SHE CALLED THE MANAGER AND THE MANAGER CALL THE COPS AND FBI.

NEEDLESS TO SAY FRANK WAS HAND CUFFED AND QUESTION. HE TOLD THE FBI THAT HE RAN A SPEED SHOP AND HE JUST SOLD A MOTOR OVER THE WEEKEND AND WAS MAKING A DEPOSIT AND HAD NO IDEA THAT THE MONEY WAS FAKE.

THE FBI STATED THAT WHO EVER IS MAKING THE FAKE 100 BILLS IS GOOD BUT NOT THAT GOOD. SO JON @ TNT HI-TECT MAS OR ANY OTHER SPEED SHOP KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR FAKE BILLS.

I THOUGHT YOU SHOULD KNOW.

Maybe "frank" should have been smart and checked a wad of $100 bills w/ one of those cheap 3$ pens himself as well. It would have saved him quite a bit of trouble.

Yeah I always check the cash I'm given when I sell a car, nice thing is I do the title work so I have all there info so I can't imagine anyone would be dumb enough to give me any fakes.

There's a 1/8th" thread that runs from top to bottom of the bill with the denomination written on it. You have to hold it up to the light to see it though.

I was told it was done to prevent people from bleaching $1 bills and printing larger bills over it. Without this it would still pass the marker test.

the best is to see the expression on the persons face when you check the bill in front of them. i had a lady of darker color give me one down at the farmers market and when i went to check it she was like *read in ebonics*"can i write a check instead" but it was to late it marked black. it was hilarious watching her try to defend herself to the minneapolis cop.
