Im thinking of getting some drag slicks for my stang for this race season and was woudnering what you guys would sugjest me to get. I want something were i can race them at the track and then drive them home but not as daily driver tires. Dont know much about drag slicks so any input is good. Just say a brand you like and what model. Thanks

Sounds like you need some Mickey Thompson E/T Streets. As long as you're not driving on them daily (like you said you won't) they're just what the doctor ordered...drive 'em to the track and still hang wheelies when the lights come down.
BF Goodrich Drag Radials are excellent too, I actually ran them on the street for a good portion of last summer. They are a lot more street-friendly but don't hook up quite as well as the ET Streets do but they're still pretty mean.

they're not slicks, but if i were you id go with nittos, you dont want tires to use everyday, but what happens when it comes down to it and your lined up with a firebird at a stoplight, and your gonna wish you had a tire to hook up better with. like fathead said you could go with BFG's, and i think you should go with nittos...(i heard nittos last longer) just my .02 cents

well, kyle since you have stock axles, i would recommend going with a drag radial. that way you have a little slip going on. also, you can't drive slicks on the street. dr's are what you are looking for. we should go to mas racing sometime. they have some dr's that you could look at, as well as some of the gauges i was telling you about the other day.O.C.R.

I have to agree with Macs Stang. As long as you don't do a bunch of smokey burnouts, they'll last quite a while. If you still want your car to handle OK, get the Nitto's, they have a stiffer sidewall. I have also heard that the Nittos are better in the rain. The few times I have been caught in the rain, I didn't think they were bad at all. I'm sure if you talk to different people, you'll get different responses. I have a friend that won't use the BFG DRs on the street, he drove with them in the rain and crashed his car on an off ramp. If I was in your place, I'd get the Nittos.

You can snap axles with dr's too, ask me how I know.I think you'll be happy with any drag radial you go with. I've had Nitto's and BFG's, and I can honestly say the BFG's are for hookin' and the Nitto's are for longer tread life...your choice. I vote BFG's.

Well thanks for all the sugjestions, im split now on to either get the bfg's or the nittos. Do you guys know were i can get these at? tires plus or discount tire? or i have to go though mail order.
Also, what are my chances of snaping my axles with slicks? and what would happen during driving to my car.2015 Mustang GT

That's them, but that picture is wrong and I don't know if you want that size. 275 60's are HUGE, I only have them because I'm running 4.30 gears.
As far as snapping axles with slicks, if the axles are stock it's very easy. You never know though, it's hit and miss...I have friends solidly in the 12's and they've never had a problem with the stock axles, and then there was me last year runnin 13.9's on drag radials and *snap*. So you just never know. If you snap an axle you're not going anywhere, the nice thing is they're not too bad to fix, just messy.

I got mine through discount tire, 245/45/17's and i paid 296 plus shipping, i dont know if size makes a difference or not tho, might be cheaper if your running a smaller rim?????
