I am considering filing bankruptcy can anyone recommend a lawyer to do the job... and do it for a fair price.

I'd talk to a money manager or whatever first, if your not to far in the hole they can help. Filing bankruptcy is not as easy as it used to be and can really make things worse I've heard in some cases.

they setup everything bla bla just as avertised I pay them and they do the rest.... I was on it for about a year before I found out that the checks that they had been sending out where being recieved a day late by each of my creditors.... after one year of being inrolled I had twice as much debt as I had started with and my credit score was down around 400....

I hope when you get the lawyer you also discuss suing the company as well as inform our attorney general. They'll be in some serious shit.

How were you paying? By check? If so, this is not hard to do. When it comes to your credit rating, every bit of this effort is worthwhile.

Don't you have a new baby? If you in the hole too deep and short of cashflow, I would just say screw the credit rating and start fresh, cash only.

I highly highly highly recommend you take the time to work on it. Credit is important in my book. Been there done that.

thats what I was thinking.... after my snapon repo my credit was killed so what ever face I can save is worthless. I need cash.... credit can be rebuilt with time.

That and you have been screwed by the CC companies. Your most likely paying 24-27% interest and they have nailed you with huge late fees on top of that. You probably owe 20% more just in interest and fees over 6 months and making payments besides. F them.

CC companies do that to increase any settlement amount. The more they said you owe them, the higher any settlement would be.
