Well, this may be a little long but here goes. Saturday is my usual day to work (6days a week FTL). I work from 8-4 every Saturday. Well, I was a little late leaving for this pass Saturday. I ended up locking up at about 4:15. I had to stop for some gas. My work is in Chanhassen in the same building as the new massive Abra Auto body. I finished getting gas at about 4:30 and then started my hour trip home. I got onto 494 west/north and kicked it down to about 75-80 which is the norm for that stretch of road. I get past 394 and then right at highway 6 everyone started hitting their brakes really hard and swerving all over the road. I was in the left lane and slowed quickly as well. To my surprise in the middle lane was a yellow lab running in the middle of 494. I past the pup and was just coming to a stop when I see what I never have wanted to see in my life. A lady in a SUV ran him over. I was parked and out of my car by this time. To my surprise the pup stood up and kept on running south bound. No limp or nothing. So, I hope back into my car and take off and turn around at the highway 55 exit. I got turned around and got up to about 100mph or so and started slowing a little while before where the run over had happened. I slowed and saw that some people had stopped on the other side that had passed going north bound and also had turned around. They had got the pup to stop in the median and he was laying down bleeding quiet a bit. They all were just standing there not doing much but calling the police. So I opened up my hatch (95 Integra) laid out a small carpet roll I have in the back (usually used for working on cars), and picked up the pup (he weighed in at 90lbs.), and then put him in the back of my car. He was not in as rough shape as I figured he would be in. I blasted the heater so he would warm up. The police showed up then and told me to hang out for a minute until they figure out what to do. I told them I'm taking the dog to the humane society in golden valley. That’s where we got out pup Turbo from about 7 months ago. I got him there and 2 guys come out. I told them to grab a muzzle just because he was a little up set and may try to nip at them. So this "kid" comes out with one and for lack of a better word is a retard. He hardly knows how to put the muzzle on so I ended up putting it on him. Then another clown comes out and those two try to get the pup to get out of the hatch on his own. Then one of them goes I know I'll go grab a towel and we will wrap it around his waste and lift him out. In my mind I'm going are you stupid, the dog was run over there. So as they are walking in to get that I grab him under his chest and under his butt and put him on a cart they hard brought out to bring him in. After that I filled out some paperwork and got his ID number so when he got better I could adopt him. I figured since I saved him once I couldn't let him be put down. The next morning I get a phone call from the humane society and they had said the owner picked him up and brought him to the emergency vet for further treatment. The owner had left his info and wanted me to call him. So I did and he ended up returning my call later that afternoon. The pups name is Dozer, he is 3 years old. The dog had no broken bones, no internal injuries or anything. I was amazed. I know if I was hit by a car I would be in much more rough shape!! All in all I know I did what I would hope someone would do for my 2 pups! The owner asked for my address and I told him to keep me updated with how he is doing. I just figured I would rant about how lucky Dozer was. Merry Christmas everyone!!
My good deed for the year. Just in time!!

I saw a lady nail a deer in the lane next to me on 494 up near 169 once. It was pretty sad and I don't like deer. I can't imagine seeing a dog get hit. Glad he was alright. Didn't he have on a collar and ID?My couch pulls out but I don't.

I was in tears when he told me what happened. We were ready to take him in if the owners didnt claim him. Im glad that he was ok, and came out with little injury. I can only wish that someone else would do that for an animal that got hit.
