Anyone ever change a belt on a washing machine?

Cause I think mine is shot because the thing doesn't spin worth a damn. It goes a lil bit if I give it a hand spin start lol but other than that is sucks. So I guess my question is it it hard to change a belt? Thought I would find out if its worth me tearing into or if I should just call sears

Is it a matter of just pulling the back off to get to it?

It isn't too bad. I had mine in a bazillion pieces not long ago to only find one of my Wife's hair band things stuck in the pump impeller.

          Go for it.

Well I found out the hard way if it was made in the last 5-7 years it may have pads that come in contact with the drum inside to cause friction and make it spin. No belt.

I believe they quit using belts a while ago but I am sure I am wrong. I know the 7 year old roper I had did this same thing and there was no fix to it unless I completley disasembled it.

just flip it on its side and take the bottom panel off it should be right there, its not hard, if you can change the belt on your car you can do it on that thing

So you have to go through the bottom to get to em? If I put it on its side will it pour water? Sorry I am an appliance noob

Let the hose down on the floor and drain it into a bucket. It should drain out the remaining water. And it may not have a belt. There may be an access cover on the front
