Mercedes Benz Identity Crisis?

So yeah, I was in Minnetonka today right on 7 and 101. So I pull into the parking lot by Northern and I see this Benz. I did not get a close look, but I would say the those wheels are between 19-21 inchers. Also, the hood appears to have a big plastic piece affixed to it to make it look like a cowl or whatnot. The owner has 3 gauges on the hood as well, but I have no idea what they are for. On the back, it said SL600, and then right next to it, it said HEAVY DUTY. I am not the smatest person on the planet, but I do not recall Mercedes making any HEAVY DUTY vehicles. Take a look for yourself. But for sho, this mofo is bling blingin it.
Also there were some seriously fat tires on the back, at least a 285-295 I think.

That thing is sweet minus the hood cowl and wheels. The SL 600's had V12's in them and were good for between 300-400 hp. Those probably came with 275's stock in back. They were hardcore machines. Heavy though.

Thats prolly a kit. I know they used to make a kit for fox bodies that you pull the stang's body off and put the benz one on, kinda like the fiero to lamborgini/ferrari swap. They also made one for a chrysler lebaron to benz kit. I don't know if they still make the kits though.

Haha, those Benzo's are fricking sweet, someone on my paper route has one, They are soo sweet, rear tires are freaking huge too.

Anyone remember those Maserati's that were just rebadged Lebaron's?
