After watching Jurassic Park the other day and thinking about all the sequels that movies have, at what point do you think we will start seeing remakes of these movies? Would they flop or do you think they would be big hits? Movies such as Jurassic Park would be sweet to see with the new technology the movie industry has. Would remakes be smart or should movie studios just keep making sequels?

Are you shitting me? A Jurassic Park remake? Why?? The movie looked realistic and was WAY ahead of it's time with special effects. A remake would be absolutely HORRIBLE. They would use all CGI instead of construcing expensive animatronics, so it would not have nearly the visceral feel to it. Plus, how are you going to top Spielberg's directing? It would probably be some hack like Jerry Bruckhiemer or Michael Bay.
And BTTF? Another classic that should NEVER be remade.
The only time I like to see remakes of any movie, is when the old one isn't very good to begin with.Comment

CGI is not a replacement for real effects. I hate it when they re-do a movie and all they did was basically ad crappy acting and a pile of CGI.

They have remade King Kong about a half dozen times, no reason to think they wont do others.

Thats exactly my point. You look at movies such as Gone in 60 or King Kong, the originals were great, and they decided to remake them probably because technology was better or whatever. It brought it money, which is the first reason to make movies. I wouldnt be surprised to see remakes of Fast and the Furious or Back to the Future.
