Sooo. I went wake boarding for the first time..

48 hrs later and im still sore as hell.

It wasnt to hard, took 3 tries or so to get up, but was doing one hand carvin and shit within a few seconds.

Just like snowboarding/skating.

So we got to the end of the lake, did a 180 to turn around, im all relaxed. On the inside of the turn, make the turn and forget about us coming back right at our waves from the previous pass...

Yup, one hand, off balance, 22 mph or so hit wave 1,2, FACEPLANT into on coming wave.

And I am out. Done. Finito.

Ive never been skull fucked before, but if I were, I would think it would feel something like that.

The guys in the boat and on the jet ski were in shock. The board was a good 15 ft behind me and they said they havent seen someone take a hit like that in years. Yup. I float around for a min with a pounding headache and tell the other wakeboarding newb it was his turn... He didnt like hearing that after watching that fall.

The Kawaski 800 SXR or whatever standup was fun as hell though.

I bounced off the wake a bit.

I was getting used to it and only made one pass before I took the digger. After that I was down for the count. 5 hrs of being on a stand up jetski for the first time and then hopping on a wake board took it all out of me.

On a side note, old kawi 350 standup = hard to plane, hard to stand up, lotsa falls.

Old kawi 650 standup= mucho more power, easy to stand, slow in turning.

New Kawi 800 standup finger throttle= like whoa. Damn fast, damn responsive and dangerous to adrenenaline junkies. Bailing at who knows what mph= smacked the boys a few times.

You wanna see faceplants? Shoulda seen me practicing double-up raleys on my wakeskate.

10' up in the air at 20MPH faceplant + part of your body landing on the board = pain you never imagined.

I have never witnessed a raley on a wakeskate. I ride local contests and am at the pro tour watching every year...
