What is this for, a PC?

Why would you want to draw air out from over the CPU? I wouldn't want my heatsink fighting for air... I have an Antec P182 - I have no such silly fan...

the reason you draw it out from around the CPU is the airflow that is coming over the heatsink then gets sucked out so more cold air can be brought across the heatsink.

ahh - so in purpose you draw more air to the area. Thats neat -

I think the setup is fine.

The side fan can be controversial, whether it should be intake or exhaust, and it really depends on the case and where the fan is mounted on the side. Try both ways and see what changes (if any) result in temp. In many cases, having the side fan on intake will lower your cpu temp.

And here's a couple of threads I found on the matter:

Just got this new case(building a pc for my aunt) that has a fan on top and one on the side. Now are these fans supposed to blow air into or out of the case or it doesn't matter?

You basically want the same CFM going in, as out. You don't want negative pressure or positive pressure.

Since this is a non-positive displacement system, I highly doubt you have to worry about +/- psi.

I agree. I'd have most, if not all blowing outward. Especially the one on the heatsink.
