You know, it's strange how people like to pick on Christians out of all the other religions that stand to gain more control. I think it is because it's easy knowing that Christians are supposed to let everything go when someone pokes them in the eye. Which is why they need to be dealt with over christians. It is Pointless to be confronting christians over their religion in this day and age, they don't really harm anyone. The abortion clinic thing is about it and that is a very rare occurrence. If you get someone to leave their religion and don't give them something to replace it they will eventually go back or go to a competing ideology. Modern Jews, Christian, Buddhists, and Hindus seem to allow enough freedom for people to leave their faith as they wish. They don't seem to go out of their way to oppress those that don't believe as they do.
It is of course a mark of being civilized sparking debate between to sides so kudos. But come on if you have any balls at all and you have a reason why you want to stick it to religion start with the rampaging ones.

I think they may have been presenting things to you in a certain light because I have yet to see another religion that is less ridiculous. Judaism is the basis for Christianity and Islam is more loosely built on Christianity only more controlling and offers more ways to interject in you life. Buddhism I can't respect because of enormous flaws in some of the basic laws such as possessions being the cause of all pain and the ego being bad. That is just as fucked up as Christianity and most people are too locked in with that mind set to break free from the notion that they for some reason are not worthy of having a free ego.
I tend to look at all ideology's with a slanted eye if I suspect they push altruism.
