The Mermaid To Close
The Mermaid off of 10 is closing the club area downstairs. I guess they're turning it into all banquet rooms or somethin'. This weekend is the final harrah I guess. It wasn't all the great of a bar in the first place... but it was alright, and close. I'll be there Sat. night probably for last drinks there... Anyone game?

Oh what a shame one of the best trailer trash bars is closing, If we go to Venue Friday we might swing through there for one last farewell to the trailer trash.

The mermaid was my first regular waterin' hole. A friend of mine used to be the manager at the Taco Bell across the street and he would always give us free tacos. Plus it was good that he put up with our dumb, drunk, 21-year-old asses.
The club sucked ass. when i would go down there early to avoid the cover, there was always this one guy who would dance and he was the only one for like an hour. The DJ would make fun of him and everything. Good entertainment. They also used to let you have as many 2-for-1s as you wanted in front of you, so we'd take shots rapid fire. Ah, to be 21 again... Then came the realization that the place was horrible and the people were disgusting. When they went to programmed 1 oz shots that put the last nail in the coffin. Cheap bastards.
So long Mermaid... you won't be missed.
