New BMW 330i... No oil dipstick.

    Genius!!

So is the way of the future? The new trend? You won't even be able to check your own oil easily? You have to rely on a sensor and a computer to let you know?

If Greg reads this... I'm sure he'll add more info to it... such as at least an '03 CL32 AMG doesn't have an oil dipstick either. Not sure what other years that extends to.

I don't think I would be very comfortable relying on the computer to tell me my oil sucks.

Who needs a dipstick to tell you that it sucks, when the German emblem on the hood tells you all you need to know

Alotta modern cars have no oil/tranny oil dipsticks. Check out how you have to check the tranny fluid level on most newer VW's.

Again, the German emblem on the front of the car tells you that the car is going to be absolutly retarded.

And I didn't even have to pop the hood.

I knew there were some VWs with no tranny dipsitcks... didn't know of the oil dipstick though.

More and more manufacturers are relying on sensors and electronics for drivetrain info. I'm not so convinced our technology level is there yet.

Hence another reason why you lease these cars, not buy them. People don't really know that OMFGBMWBBQ and Mercedes are not known for being reliable. They don't score that high with JD Power either. Not only that but you will have to donate a kidney to do any major repairs unless you are a balla. But they sure are pretty.
