I have one in my garage although I prefer just using a razor blade and get it under the vinyl and run down the car with it rather than using that thing.

Whatever you don't use a metal razor blade!!! Just heat it up with a hair dryer and peel it off. If it is one of those "painted" stripes, heavy solvent or alcohol will eventually rub it off. But do the hair dryer thing first.

Is that 3m thing hard to use?

Heat gun and hope like hell there is no paint line from previous paint work that ends at the stripe.

I gave Scotty some plastic razor blades to aid in his paint destruction.

IMO, Heat Gun + Plastic Razor Blade + 3M General Purpose Adhesive Remover.

If you wanted instant gratification you would have started peeling them off by now!!! Obviously, you can wait a few more days. =)

I started here and there to see what I was up against, didn't do anything drastic, yet.....

Maybe this weekend I'll get out there with my bucket and sit on my ass and work my way around the car

Ive used metal razor blades before and the trick was to keep it between the vinyl and the adhesive

another tip is to do this in a garage where the solvents from the 3m adhesive remover wont evaporate as quickly, and spray the adhesive remover on before using the blade, this helps tremendously allowing a smooth run along the pinstripe, without the solvent to break away the adhesive the blade will hang and potentionally cause you to dip into the paint.

I've been known to lay plastic over it and let it really soak in and soften it up.
