E.P. blows! ive noticed there has been more police presence on 101 also, which has kinda ruined the highspeed slolams coming back from the bars in shakopee....

Understanding.... That road should be at least a 45 zone not 35 My GF's mom lives off of Dell Rd so I took that path may of times.

it was right after the freeway, where there's basically nothing but forest on the left or right... in fact, i had to drive over a 1/4 mile to find some place to pull over... and the cop used the excuse that "we've gotten a lot of complaints from people with their kids out here"...

if any kids are out into the sticks area, and they can't hear my car coming, they got other issues...

I was in the wrong, no doubt about it, but like it was said, the speed limit should be a lil' higher (hell, it's a 4 lane road, 2 each way divided by a median, by minnesota standards - that's an interstate). The fact he used a bullshit excuse kinda bugs me... wish he woulda just said, you're young, drive a flashy car over the speed limit.

on the way back from lunch, driving 50mph, i got passed by a minivan, on the same road. cops nowhere in sight. oh, and i almost got tboned by someone running a red light... again no cops.

I do feel like most the roads in ep have oddly low speed limits. Maybe some of that has changed since the times that I used to run around in that area.

A) EP is cop nazi land. This includes 494, 212, 5, and any side roads. They run traps on 494, or 212 every couple of days.

2) The main reason certain roads, like Dell road, are that slow is because they realize it should be a faster speed. They simply make it a lower speed in hopes to generate revenue. And let me tell you for how often EP does speed traps, those officers are making their wages back hand over fist.

C) EP is home to the Vikings training camp. Instant revenue from holding the Black man down!

Don't know much about EP, but Champlin notoriously kept speed limits lower than needed for years. I even remember the city council crying about having a traffic study done because it would no doubt RAISE the speed limit in any particular area.

I haven't quite figured out Maple Grove yet...I just know they harrass MisterCMK in the parking lots at Arbor Lakes and the harrasers aren't even the MGPD MGPD doesn't even seem to bother enforcing most traffic laws, although they have been active on 694/94 as of late.

I ran that slolam there back in the 60s - 70s. No traffic after 11pm. We would have a great time on that side of EP. In those days we had 3 cops, only 1 worked at night. We would get him on the North side of CR 5 and run down around the airport, loop to 101 & run "road race" up 101. Those days are gone.
