So I decided to try out my garage today. Bought a house with my wife back in July and have gotten some use out of the 4th stall. Fired up the heater yesterday and did some spring cleaning on my new baby. Main selling point on the house for me at least...4 stall, finished, heated garage! Ooooh...baby!
Bought the Stang back in December for just over $2000. It has 54,200 miles on the odometer. She's been stored for the last 5 years or so but the previous owner got her ready for me mechanically.
There was a leak in the sunroof...took that off, cleaned it up and put some silicon sealant around some small spots. She won't be out in the rain very much if at all...so I'm not too worried.
Gave her a semi-wax job. The paint still needs a good compound cleaning and I'll be doing that in the next month or so before my first trip to Rock Falls.
Got an estimate on the flat black part of the hood and sides to be repainted. Its not savable. Should only run about $175-$200 the body shop said. They're going to repaint the flat black on the hood along with the sides around the doors where its worn off and around the windshield where theres some rock chip marks.
Installed a new low headlamp...gonna pick one more up to make the lows matching...not sure why I didn't do that in the first place.
She's all ready...Rock Falls...quick errands...bit of fun everyday driving. Love this car.
Everything is stock except the mufflers have been replaced with a set of glasspacks. Bit loud...but oh well
The pull button amplifier for the push button radio even works along with the air conditioning and cruise control.
Just missing one little black knob off of the vent control. And new center caps for my mysterious rims. Still haven't figured out what type of Ford they came off of...but you gents here surmised it was a Ranger...and I'll be looking into that soon.
See attached pics....
Hope you like 'em!
See you in April at Rock Falls....
