Major abdominal surgury is going to fuck you up for a while....when I had my appendix burst they did a 6" incision down the middle of my belly, just below the button. I couldnt lift shit or sit up for about 3 months, and it took a long time til I got most of my stomach strength back.

yup 3rd summer in a row i get to get cut open ,thhis time next monday i will be having more fun,i get to have my stomach cut open have my guts moved aside where then they will cut out the remaining disc ,then add a bone where the disk once was and then fused back together fucking drunk drivers

Does having your back fused still mean you won't be able to lean over? My grandma had her back fused a long time ago and she has no choice but to stand up straight, I don't know if they figured out a better way since then.

She had all the counters in her house built up high because of her back and I couldn't reach any sinks at her house until I was 15.

that sucks! good luck. I dont look forward to the many (Im Sure) Im going to have to endure for my back when I get a bit older...My vertibre fused on their own no need for surgery there.

i crushed a couple vertebrae pretty bad with a land to my head and the docs wanted to fuse 12 vertebrae and put in two looooong titanium rods. even after a second and third opinion agreeing that i needed it, i opted not to after researching the pros and cons of major back sugery. I don't want to sound like some sort of alternative healing hocus pocus psycho, but honestly, be ABSOLUTELY sure you NEED the surgery no matter what before going through with any of them. so many times you come out of the operating room worse than you went in.

Maybe you can talk to the doc and have him put in the new race frame supports in there at the same time, make sure you get a warranty too.
