    HD Radio anyone?

Anyone have this? I hear about it being advertised all the time on my way into work. Is it worth it?

I should have this sometime soon.
Im trying to get best buys but in gear on HD.

Its a night and day difference. I believe Clear Channel is behind a big push for HD too.

Id say HD > Sat. I cant stand listening to that compressed crap that comes from those sat. And to pay for it, F that.
You have been banned for the following reason:
Yeah, I'm really tried of cleaning up after you.
Date the ban will be lifted: Never

How many stations around here have broadcasting in HD? Is there a list somewhere?

Also, is it still only local reception or can you get stations from further away.

Hell no. HD is still regulated by the FCC like normal radio, and still has the same shitty playlist.

Yup same exact shit. Just more of it.

And as for it Sat. being compressed. Most people here aren't Audiophiles so most aren't going to care about or for that matter actually hear the very minimal amount of compression you hear occasionally.

99% of the time my sat radio sounds fantastic. The other 1% is very minor compression that happens a minute out of the day.

What stores stock HD radios? I want a home reciver for my work and a stereo for my car. I looked around a few month ago at Best Buy and Wal-Mart, could'nt find much of anything at all.
Sounds quaility sucks on FM. But cd's and Mp3 get boaring fast.

How would I know if my factory '05 F150 deck is compatible with an HD tuner? I don't want to replace the factory deck, and just getting the tuner is el cheapo so it seems a simple and cheap way to get digital radio.

Compression is pushing down or up all the frequencies levels the radio station puts out accross the board, 20 - 20,000HZ. Compression keeps all the frequencies under a certain level the more compression you add the worse your sound quality is going to be.

I dont think cheap, and HD radio are in the same sentence. Last time I check ( was a while ago, so may be diff now) the receivers were 4-500$

The receivers aren't cheap, but the tuners are . If my deck was compatible, all I would need is the tuner. That's what I am asking.
