Personally I love the car. If it is similar enough in price to a new Golf TDI, I'll be getting one of the diesel 5-door models

Granted, it looks weird in these photos but ANY car in goofy spy shots with some camoflaging is going to look bad:

BMW's styling peaked in the early-to-mid-'90s. They've been ugly ever since. And that Golf is hideous too.

Like I said, this is a spy shot of the 1. It's going to look weird until it is actually in production and there are some 'official' photos.

The Golf looks awesome too in my opinion.

More than likely the 1 will be way over priced and in demand (a la Mini Cooper, PT Cruiser, GTO) with dealer markups.

Id drive eather of them over a focus, I think the best looking BMWs are based on the new 3 series, Id kill for a 2000+ M3 but even alot of the 330ci's are drool happy for me

Oh yeah, duh. They're still ugly though. i doubt the shape of the greenhouse was disguised. That's the worst part.
