So, let's sum this up

• In 1999, when we had a surplus, we were given a SMALL tax cut because of the incredible vocal outcry by citizens. The tax cuts spurred growth and with it more tax revenues. Crazytalk, you say? Funny...it works EVERY time its tried.
• The dems complained that we could not "afford" a tax cut. Who's money is it anyway...government or citizens?
• The transportation ammendment (light rail ammendment in disguise) passed. They claimed that this would ASSURE all transportation needs would be met with this syphoning off of funds. Now, a Gas Tax, License fee tax, sales tax... is needed or we will not be able to fund our transportation needs? HUH?!
• Yet, as the state has NO money, they can extend same-sex benefits to people in city/county/state government that those outside government can't get? Hmmm Nice cut in your spending there guys
• We have a $2.2+ Billion "surplus" (Over taxation) yet we can't afford our current obligations? WHAT?! Oh, we won't be able to keep our campaign promised to the teachers...SO WHAT. There is NO RIGHT to taxpayer money for teachers. This 100% about repaying the teachers lobby/union for electing left-wing lunatics to our government.
• Woodbury lefty wants to raise taxes 20% on income of the "high income" earners in MN. What is high income? Single making $69,000 year. Holy Shitballs...!!!1!11

Those of you who elect non-conservative candidates have elected for ALL of US a huge attempted money grab by government to feed its unending thirst for spending. Elections DO matter.

P.S. I forgot a golden point...in 2011 the state will enact a HUGE tax increase for another "program" that they have NO BUSINESS doing. What is this? The ability to pay for UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE. What does this mean? You will NO LONGER be able to choose your doctor or get immediate care as you need it. You will be "assigned a doctor" and you will have to wait. But what if they are not as good as the guy you want to see? TOO F***ING BAD.

Since our current system is only paying for maintenance on a lot of things like infrastructure on roads etc, I could see where an increase to replace them would be required, as replacement and improvements are more expensive than maintenance.

But the bat crazy shit they wanna fund was never chosen by us, and it's our money. Light rail is a financial black hole, universal health care needs to be federal or not at all, and education spending per student has doubled in the last 40 years while test scores have gotten worse.

Many Dems swept into office in a voter reaction to the war, when the reality is that it is an issue that local politicians really have no control over. Now we're gonna have to grab our ankles.

I'm starting to passively look at land/opportunities in the Dakotas.

Unfortunately, Wisconsin is getting retarded too.

Not too long from now, the Dakotas and Minnesota will resemble West/East Germany. It's really not a bad idea to figure out a plan of escape for when the time comes, when the government won't allow it's citizens to leave (escape) Minnesota anymore.
