You have no friends here. Off you go.

If you are able, save them a place inside of you and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go. Be not ashamed to say you loved them, though you may or may not have always. Take what they have left and what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own. And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind.

Micheal Moore actually does have one supporter here.

And Matt? Is it seriously worth your time to argue politics on an Internet board. I've given up on it because it's really not worth any time or money. It doesn't change people's minds. If you really were so "right" (meaning correct, but I wanted to make a pun) then why don't you spend your time doing REAL activism. Not just arm-chair activism (worthless) and bragging about it. -er- :dirty:

Micharel Moore, Wellstone, and Al Franken suck.

BTW, that stupid Wellstone bus has been parked forever.

Wellstones crash: I knew the co-pilot on that flight. The guy owned a brand new Z28. I'm was sad to hear that he died

This seems utterly uncalled for. Say what you will about Paul Wellstone's politics, he was a very dedicated man that worked very hard for what he believed in. That's respectable NO MATTER your political affiliation. Remembering that about him is what matters: the character.

wellstone was a nice guy to intense for me...I had the chance to talk politics with him and my godfather retirment party some years back. (he was seated at our table) he truly beleived in what he said..wich is a good thing, not that i agreed with him, but like duck said he was deadicated to what he belived. Took balls to come that night for him though..the Room was filled with the most conservitve repulicans this state can offer up.

BTW i stronly disagree with Michel more..but this topics hardly go anywhere..so im just gonna leave it at i dont agree with him

Who posts on the internet for money or expects some sort of ROI from it . I tear stupid or misinformed arguments to shreads for the fun of it.... Well that and to set the record straight so those looking for the truth at the very least have access to it.

Look, I don't know what in the hell you think you are trying to pull with this whole changing people's minds business.... I distinctly remember you asking me if I wanted to engage in a personal debate with you off of the public venue. And now you want to talk about how not being able to change people's minds makes something not worthwhile???? Make up your mind already.

And, oh by the way, you will not be the one to decide if anybody's mind is changed by what I or anybody else has to say. Of course what I have to say seems pointless to you. Your mind probably cannot be changed and I would never expect somebody as invested in a cause as you are to reverse themselves based on what I have to say about how wrong that cause is. You are not to be turned - you are to be defeated.

Armchair? Me - in an armchair?????? What do you know about me and what I am part of? Tell me, please.

Would you like a cookie? Didn't you say something about bragging being bad?

And don't talk to me about volunteering for something you believe in, civilian.

I wasn't bragging, I was stating that I do something.

Military service is not right for all people. Personally, I considered it, but honestly I'm not cut out for it. Does that mean I do not respect it? No. You're doing the work to protect our nation from it's advesaries and that's very admirable, but it's not political advocacy.

The problem with some of your positions is that they're absolutist and from a skewed perspective. Your work in the service means that you've been spoon fed a good amount of information with the proper spin to inspire and support what you're being told to do. It's sorta how the military works. I doubt you work around a lot of liberals or are given any information supporting their positions.

Honestly, I believe you're wrong on a good number of issues, here's some I'm going to guess you think are "wrong."

We need more taxes to sponsor more welfare programs, free medical and dental services, a guarenteed social security system, government sponsored traning programs to get people jobs, a drug benefits package for seniors, a useful public transit system (a la London/England-in-general), better schools, more post-Secondary support for people with the need or desire, increased relations with China and the EU, a real EEOC, a real EPA, a federal OK for people who live alternative life styles (GLBTs), federally protected choice for womyn, legalized medicinal marijuana, a reasonable drinking age, constitutional protections for illegal immigrants, removal of newly granted rights of Federal Agencies to invade the privacy of citizens, a ban on the ability to hold people prisoner without charge, increased regulations on big businesses (various ones are needed), I could probably go on for longer but this is a long enough list of examples.

Our country's pretty good, I love being an American, but I don't think it's perfect. It's getting "worse" as far as my perspective is concerned. So I work towards that end by supporting the proper candidates and doing what I can on a micro-scale in order to get there.

However, what good does it do you to insult people for what they believe? You're not "tearing" anything, you'll get a bunch of people who will post "Keep posting you're a bad ass" and people more sheepish (unpopular) people posting stuff that just gets insulted.

You're going to do what you're going to do. But this is a car-board and I think it's neccessary to leave politics at the door. Keeps the drama down and the pertinent subjects up.

Hey Democrats, I'm sure you've seen that bumper sticker saying it's time for a "regime change". Well your right. The regime change started by getting rid of Clinton, Republicans assuming control of the Senate, and here in Minnesota by electing Coleman and Pawlenty. Now we have to get rid of Dayton.

of all the 'interesting' tidbits in your posts on this thread, this stood out. What exactly do you think is so deserving of pride about working for a Union? As a business owner would I be somehow elevated by creating a Union for myself? I can't possibly imagine what your point was by mentioning that.
