Set up the new LCD HDTV, currently it is hooked up to an amplified over the air anntenea, the picture is great, but the background sound is alot louder than voices, always, on all channels in HD. Any ideas?

My Samsung was the same way when using the TV speakers. I didn't like it at all either. I'm not very expert on HD TVs but I think the problem is that it's receiving 5.1 channel audio and mixing it into the two available speakers as best it can. It doesn't have a good result. I couldn't change that with my TV audio options either. The problem went away when fed into a 5.1 (actually 7.1) channel surround sound receiver and speakers. No regrets at all about buying the receiver and speakers. Go for it!
