Set up the new LCD HDTV, currently it is hooked up to an amplified over the air anntenea, the picture is great, but the background sound is alot louder than voices, always, on all channels in HD. Any ideas?

Try your sound modes. If you have stereo surround chosen, this will likely happen. PUt on stereo only for now to see if that fixes it.Originally posted by 96zjlimited View Post

My Samsung was the same way when using the TV speakers. I didn't like it at all either. I'm not very expert on HD TVs but I think the problem is that it's receiving 5.1 channel audio and mixing it into the two available speakers as best it can. It doesn't have a good result. I couldn't change that with my TV audio options either. The problem went away when fed into a 5.1 (actually 7.1) channel surround sound receiver and speakers. No regrets at all about buying the receiver and speakers. Go for it!Comment

I have the 7.1 set up. The DVD goes through it. Most movies are OK but pirates of the carribean was horrible to hear the words the bass was giving me a headache. The best mose was the THX one.Comment
