AMBOY, Minn. (AP) - A man killed himself during a standoff after shooting and wounding two police officers near this south-central Minnesota town, authorities said. One of the officers was hospitalized Sunday with a severe head wound.
The suspect, Jeff Skjervold, 41, apparently shot himself to death after barricading himself in his home, authorities said.
Skjervold reportedly got into a fight Saturday with a woman, who left the home before officers entered the house.
Two officers responding to the domestic disturbance call were shot. One of the officers, 37-year-old Robert Sadusky, a 7½-year veteran of the Mankato Police Department, suffered a severe head wound, authorities said. Sadusky was upgraded to serious from critical condition at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Mayo Clinic spokeswoman Amy Reyes said.
Sadusky was awake and able to speak with his family, police said at a news conference.
The other wounded officer, Chris Nelson, 44, of the St. Peter Police Department, also was shot in the head and recovering at home with his family Sunday, authorities said. Nelson was saved by his ballistics helmet, St. Peter Police Chief Matthew Peters said.

Feel bad for the cops. There are a lot of crazy fuckers living down there. Has to be hard for the families, especially with the holidays
