it's coming up on saturday already!!! it's good stuff! we put up a couple brand new stands this year and built one blind so we have 7 places to pick for us 3 guys. was up last weekend, lots of rubs and some scrapes too so lots of good sign
anyway, heading up tomorrow, good luck everyone else! i hope to bag that elusive 30 pointer.

The only real deer season is when you can shoo them with a bow. I could fucking walk through the woods with a 10 piece band and pick any deer off with a rifle. Though I feel this way because I am absolutely deadly with a bow and it would be very easy for me to take down a deer with one.

For what it's worth, I do believe rifle hunting is a necessity, we gotta control the populations and all these PETA pricks can starve for all I care. I just wish more people put the time into learning how to hunt with a bow and become good shots.

Bow hunters get my respect. I could shoot a bow well too if I had the practice, it is the patience and skill to get them close that gets my respect.

You should teach me to shoot a bow. I have always wanted to learn. I mean its a much quiter kill then a silenced .308 that I use for most jobs right now.

I do agree, and had a bow. I couldn't shoot it well enough to let myself hunt with it, though. I don't want to wound deer and have them get away...

I'm hunting in WI this year, and hunting with my 44 revolver.
I have a 4x pistol scope on her, and she's pretty lethal out to 100yds!

oh give me a break!
i have my own bow and used to bowhunt. i've even got one deer from the bow.
i just love how the hardcore bowhunters think rifles are a joke. the last 2 deer i shot the last 2 years were WELL within bow distance. 15 yards and probably 30 yards last year, our land is mostly very thick woods.
it's just a personal choice, 1 ain't better than the other. it's like flyfisherman saying that regular fishing isn't REAL. rifle hunting is a tradition for my family so i am going to do that. i'd probably still go sit out with my bow though if i had more time like i used to.
oh and bullshit that you think you could go get any deer with a rifle. i've done both and like both. both are hard. maybe if you hunt in wide open fields and are picking deer off from long distance with rifle, but i don't do that.
the hardest part about hunting in the woods isn't what weapon you use it's getting yourself in the right spot, at the right time.

yeah zinc i just saw a commercial on a outdoor channel last week for those game ears. i thought they'd be cool to try.. but wouldn't you also hear every single other noise going on in the woods??? that's a hell of alot of red squirrels to be pissing me off!!
i won't be making it to plymouth today or else i'd try them out.
