How come when I resize pics they turn into PSF files?

I'm trying to download some files to another site. I need to resize them smaller. I go to "photoimpression" in my computer and resize them. They are size 1024x750 jpeg from my digital camera. I resize them down to about 500x325. After doing this they turn into PSF files? This site won't take PSF files. How do I keep them jpeg?
