I hate to have another thread where I complain but, is it me, or does Jeep seem to have "sold out" a little? Is it going to end? I'm I going a little overboard?

4 door Wranglers? Car based Patriot and Compass?
The goofiest part is that Jeep has a trail-rated package for the Patriot, are they going after Subaru or something?

Obviously, there's $ to still be made on small/car based utes and I guess I'm a little surprised it took this long. I guess I'm worried that they'll try and phase out the "classic" swb 2 door Wrangler that harks back to the CJ series and that they'll somehow ruin Grand Cherokee next.

When I bought my focus, all the dealers told me that 2 door cars are a thing of the past, no one wants them Obviously, someone does if I bought one

Well, they did just come out with the new wrangler and they expanded the linup with the 4-door model, which shows that they're invested in the idea/platform. ONe piece of optional equipment is an electronic swaybar disconnect, which gives you extra articulation at the push of a button. Pretty sweet.

You had to remind me SO is that (theoretically) Jeep's Excursion? Will it last all of 5 years too?

As for Grand Cherokees being lame , well a little. They're no Wagoneer, for sure.

I think the four door is cool Look at it this way though. They still build their offroad machines (ok, so the wrangler is they only good one they build) but they have to cater to the market. 99% of people buy the yuppie shit I dont care... the more money they make with yuppie vehicles, the more money they could possibly put into R&D for their new offroad machines

SRT8 FTW I think the srt8 is pretty bad ass. Though its off road capabilittes may be a little lacking.

No one wants to ride in a shitty riding solid axle suv anymore. Why make what wont sell. Just like others have said they need to cater to the people willing to buy. Until you have ridden in some of these new Jeeps I dont think anyone should be bashing them. They all handle great some haul ass and they are comfortable as all hell. Most of them do ok offroad still too. I know they dont perform like a coilover XJ or an old SOA CJ but lets be realistic change is inevitable, and usually good
