I am pretty sure I want a 9mm. Its just for fuckin around with. I plan on getting my conceal and carry permit but dont really plan on carrying often. So I guess I am looking for recomendations. I have my eye on a ruger at Gander right now. Not sure on the model number but its a 9mm semi auto somethin like $350 I think.

A friend of mine has had a ruger p89 for like 6+ years, he loves it. 3 of us took turns shooting that and a glock 17. It was more accurate than the glock for every one of us, including the owner of the glock.

My friend has a s&w .40, they are also avail in 9mm, I think its around the $400 mark, its a medium sized gun and fits in the hand pretty good, but, if you want to conceal and carry, you prob want something smaller, he has a springfrield arms sub-comp 9mm also, that thing is tiny as hell, it looks like a toy, I think that one costed around the $500 mark though...

I hear accuracy sucks on glocks, but doesn't the 17 have an optional 30 round clip? If that's the one, I don't care how accurate it is, if you can't hit something with 30 rounds, you shouldn't be shooting.

x2 on the P89 I have one and it shoots better than any other gun I own. and I paid under 400 for it. I would buy one if I were you.

P.S. Buy rubber grips for it though, the plastic ones that come with it suck.

not really. 30 round clips can be bought for about every glock model at gun shows as well as for many other models.

Glocks are double action only which = N.A. beer or a gay.


I've shot most all calibers and don't like 9mm. The reason 9mm became popular is because most law enforcement switched to 9mm. The reason for this is mostly because of blowby issues(bullets from previous rounds would go through perp and hit an innocent in the backround.) they also liked the added capacity.

most of special ops in US military carry H&K .45 for A good reason.

ruger revolvers = The win. Ruger semi-autos = the loss.

I carry a compact kimber ultra ten 2. 2.75" barrel and ten shot double stack clip in a 1911 platform.

I would recommend .45 cal or .400 corbon or 10mm.

I would just get a 22lr for plinking and targets.
Its a great little round, and you can buy 525 rounds for 10 bucks.

As for bigbore handguns, may i recommend the new s&w .460 xvr.

If you need bigger, how about a .50 bmg?

45acp is a good cal, and not to expensive, also 38 special and 357mag guns are fun, go to bills gun range and rent multiple guns of all sizes before you buy! one will most likely stand out as your favorite, my favorite is a 45 colt auto
