my dads goal is to get one with our .44 magnum, can only hope its big enough. He hasnt seen one close enough to use it so he's had to shoot em with his 270 but we'll see.

Thompson Center Encore pistol with the 17" barrel. Now that's a pistol. Comes in about 30 different calibers. I'd go with the 25-06 or the 7mm Rem Mag.

If You're like me and wanna act like a bad ass dirty harry in the woods. Buy a .500 S&W mag revolver. I also like my kimber converted to .400 cor-bon. Then I got 15 rounds of semi auto. plus extra clip. FTW!!

also a note. any legal pistol (less than 18" barrel) can be used in Minnesota shotgun zones. That means any caliber. 7mm Mag>Shotgun slug.

thats an interesting thought... Eh, fug it i like my rifled barrel/ scoped 12 gauge nothing like punching a 12 ga. sized hole through em to knock em down.

thats what im using right know. its just the area i hunt in is thick brush and shit and its hard to get a big ass shot gun up in time

Ya, it's kind of a loop hole in the MN laws. I even talked to a game warden about it and he confirmed it. Fuck a 12 Guage. It's bad ass to 100 yards. Just so damn slow. I can punch out pop cans @ 200+yards with a 7mm Mag TC pistol and the 17 Inch barrel.

I've actually changed my tune about hunting deer though. I started at 10 years old and shot plenty of deer including a 245lb trophy on the wall. It just didn't seem right to drop the fucker at 150 yards with a head shot. and he didn't even know I'm there. My thrill is throwing lead around. bang bang bang. combat style. If I'm shooting at him I want him to know I'm there first. fuck that sneaky sniper style. It's more fun to dual yield pistols and walk into a heavy woods and fire some warning shots and wait for em to run out. Then It's on like donkey kong. and if I don't hit em. fuck it was fun shooting and I don't have to drag the fucker back to camp.

I use my uncles 44mag. Deer waled right under tree stand, I almost shot it with the 30-30 but pulled out the 44 and droped it in one step. Should have jumped on it and done it with the knife. LOL
