    EVDO Broadband/Bluetooth question

I have an Audiovox VX6600 for a phone. Supposedly it has access to EVDO broadband in areas that have it. I'm going to Dallas, TX friday, and I'm curious, will it just automatically pick that up? Also I've heard of people using their phone's bluetooth connection to sync it to the computer, and then use the computer for the internet. How is that done? (I know both phone and computer are bluetooth enabled)

I don't know about syncing with your computer to use the net but as long as EDVO is availible there your phone should automatically pick it up.

you have to pay for EVDO broadband from your provider to use it. It won't just work automagically. You have to be on a plan that allows it.

You have to have a data plan on your phone. Once you have that you have to link your phone with said computer through bluetooth. Once thats done you have to setup your phone as a modem on the computer. You should be able to find those settings on a forum somewhere, and there's a bunch of them out there. Examples are:

        For the MPx smartphones surrealnetworks.com
        For Razr's motomodders.net and .com

I do have edvo on my plan. It came as part of my data plan, even though we dont have it here yet

My main problem is I cant get my computer to see my phone as a bluetooth device. Any fix for that?

Have you made your phone "discoverable" and searched using your computer?

Bluetooth is turned off on the phone by default, you need to turn it on.

You need a bluetooth adapter for the laptop... are you *POSITIVE* it's built-in? What's the exact model number of the laptop?
