    Requiem for a Dream

I know the movie Requiem for a Dream has been out for a while, but I just saw it tonight. Man, my friends know I like f-ed up movies that are twisted, but damn this one takes the cake. I had to actually take a break from it to keep from becoming physically sick.

On the other hand... this movie was phenominally done... the camera work, soundtrack, and use of repitition was great! I swear they should show that movie to people in rehab. If that don't cure your drug problem then nothing will.

Anyone else seen it and just curious what did you think of it?

Definitely a wild movie. I loaned it to some friends and they thought it was too twisted.

Hehe. You say its one of the better movies of our history, yet youve never even seen it? hehe. And yes, it is one of my fav. all time movies. Not to mention that Jennifer Connely is just retardedly hot.

heh, sometimes they do. and the funniest part: the heroin addicts look at the movie and just see fond memories...its insane.

I love the directing in that movie. The refrigerator is hands down my favorite part of that movie.

I have had that movie on the computer for a long time and have not watched it yet, I may just have to watch it this weekend. Anyone see American Beauty? If I remember that was a pretty messed up movie too.

american beauty is a realy good movie but it compared to requiem it's a disney movie.

they really set up reqium well...if you ever know someone who is thinking about hardcore drugs just show it to them, they'll think twice

Yes the directing and writing is among the best I have seen. It is very horrific though. I thought the old lady was the sadest part... I'll be sure to give my Mom a big hug this weekend when I am back. Despite how much it took to stomach the first showing I want to see it again. It is one of those types of movie with dispite so little at first glance there is a lot of little things that add so much depth. If you aren't looking for them or used to looking for them people often miss them.

I wish I would have known what the movie was about a week ago. I had to choose between Girl Interupted, Memento, and Requiem for an abnormal psych extra credit project. I chose Memento cuz I've seen it and know it's a good movie. Maybe I'll have to e-mail the prof saying I changed my mind.

oh man, memento is one of my all time favorite movies!!! it's just so crazy, twisting, mind boggling, etc. definitley deserves more recognition. not many films are made in a 'reverse' story line, let alone do it well.
