Why do poeple with mostly stock muscle cars (60's early 70's) always think they have the fastest car on the planet. They may be cool and very expensive but I doubt they would win very many races. Fast is a relative term but at what point can you brag about your car being fast. After winning some street races? Running sub 13 at the track? I cannot brag myself because my car is a 16 sec machine.

I love old dudes that think their old stock big block is fast. Had a guy in his 442 last summer swear up and down there was no way my little 281 was faster than his, even if it did have a blower. After the rape with no vaseline, he never even bothered to show back up to the spot.

i was cruising down uni last weekend ad a '69 Z28 came along side me...looked all stock, probably one of the few real Z28s. had the stock size tires on it and didnt sound too mean.....just sounded like a 302 should. well, he puts it in 2nd gear and kinda revs me a little...so i do the same and pass him....then he comes back alongside still in 2nd....we didnt race or anything...

then we pull up at a light and i get in the turn lane. we're sitting there and he looks over and says "you dont really think you can beat this, do you?". i didnt know what to say so i just nodded yes. he didnt say anything after that.

im sure a real 302 Z28 is gonna be quick from a roll, my dad had a 68 Z and i've heard plenty stories, but it ran 12.80s on slicks with a tunnel ram.

they are not replacable, but the new cars put up a good fight and are so much safer.

There are not many stock vehicles that are very fast. Especially autos. That is why if you want brag about how fast it is you better stick a 15k into it. Oh yeah and you better earn the money yourself or else you still should not be bragging.

this place seems pretty mellow on the braggers. besides, people have actual bragging rights here considering they've ACTUALLY raced cars.

Yeah I always like useing that line, : if you havnt lost a race you havnt raced much" I think everyone here talks alittle crap now and then but nobody really braggs alot. We just push each others buttons now and then. Hell I think my shit is fast but what is fast? its a relative term. If you can run 12's on the street u will beat up 95% of cars you will street race. But is a 12 Fast? Not by todays streetracing standards.
