Anyone know what year they switched over from the 5.0 to the 4.6?

99 I believe. I had a 97 with a 5.0.

9.10@142 on DOTs thru the mufflers, back when I used to race...

with the body change, all the old Ranger based only received 5.h0s... I know it was by 02
