WTF!?! Is this really a crime?

WTF?! I've been known to mow my backyard while a little schnockered.

I could understand if he attempted to drive his mower on the freeway, but come on.....Sidewalk?!?!?

VERMILION, Ohio — A northern Ohio man is accused of operating a lawnmower while drunk.

The Vermilion man was arrested Friday night as he drove the mower on a sidewalk. Police say he drove the mower to a store about a mile from his home and was arrested on his way back. The lawn mower was towed.

Police say a breath test showed that his blood alcohol level was .144 percent, which is over the legal limit of .08 percent.

Police say it was the man's third drunken-driving-related arrest in six months.

The minnesota drinking laws are specificaly written to ONLY include motorized vehicles. And specificaly outline a clause to NOT include motorized wheel chairs.

The stories about getting a DWI while on a bike are BS. You can however get a public intoxication.

If the owner of that lawn mower would have stayed in his yard, thats one thing, but once he took it to the sidewalk he is now on a public pathway.

i wonder what their reason for pulling him over in the first place.

            im sure he wasnt speeding
riding mowers do not come with seatbelts
and its not illegal to have your mower on the sidewalk and there are no lines painted on the sidewalk in order for him to swerve over

ive seen on Cops or Max X or some show like that where a guy was passed out drunk on his mower, but was on the street.

            pretty funny vid

Once a cop told me it was unlawful to drink a beer while sitting on my rock in the front yard. Stupid cops. Well maybe if I didn't look like a 17 year old.

"The keys in it," gave them the ability to do that. I don't know the exact wording of the provision, but if the cops see you're drunk with keys in hand, headed for or are already in the Motor Vehicle, they can cite you.

Also, if you are operating ANY MOTORIZED vehicle in MN and fall into the RIGHT-OF-WAY you can be cited. Sidewalks, Alley-ways, easements, and drive-way entries are all public right-of-way, and the cops can use it.
