    $29 bank fee...

So I send in my Paypal payment for ebay transactions...a whopping $2 payment that comes right from my saving account. Well, in the time between sending it and it clearing, I transferred my $ to my checking account, not realizing the paypal was still pending.

So I get a letter in the mail Saturday saying the bank imposed a $29 fee for insufficient funds since the paypal did not go through. For the savings account to remain open, there had to be $10 in there, which there was...my $10...

What do you think about that?

BUT, I'd stop into speak with someone at the bank IN PERSON and attempt to get this resolved (i.e. have them drop the charge to something like $5. It does not cost them this much to process a insufficient funds check.)

Agreed. I did this last year with Wells Fargo and it saved me almost $100

they dropped the charge to zero dollars. it wasnt a check, it was just an online payment, wire transfer, whatever you call it

and listen to the rest of you...lol...apparently a $30 charge is fine with most of you...the point is, they can punch in my member number and see how much money i have in the bank...and then they can look at the amount i was trying to transfer..2 fucking dollars! hahaha...yeah, i dont have enough to cover it...might have to wait until next month

and when i switched from savings to checking, why didnt the teller look at the screen and say "by the way, you have a pending payment to ebay. i will leave that amount in there for you so it clears with no problems."

                      nope, cant do that...

it wouldnt have pissed me off so much if the amount i was trying to transfer was a worthwhile sum of money...if $20 or $50 bounced, I could understand it...but c'mon, what's next...oh you tried to transfer a penny, we're charging you $30 since it didnt work.

nah g/f works at bank and i have also heard lots of banks giving your money back. They dont want to lose your business over a $30 charge...

Sounds like TCF with the $9 ATM transaction.
