Most of you probably don't know of the man but Ronnie Sox passed away yesterday. He raced Pro Stock back when the cars were still recognizeable. He was known as "MR. 4 Speed". I've met the man twice and was really hoping for a 3d time this summer. He had been fighting cancer for some time now and finally lost the battle yesterday. Here's some links for anyone who cares.
I have 1 less hero.....

Thats too bad. Tim I sold my Model A pick-up to a guy that has owned almost every car Sox Martin ever raced. Engleheart performance, I forget his first name but the live south of Rochester and Ronnie would come down there I guess to car shows they would put on. They picked the model a up with a flat bed that had a numbers matching pristine hemi 4 spd cuda that was plum crazy. I just saw the guy on Barret Jackson the other week buying a camaro of all cars!Originally posted by SlowGreenC4Most of you probably don't know of the man but Ronnie Sox passed away yesterday. Sox & Martin had some really competitive cars in the day. Truly one of the pioneers.Last edited by Racin Repair; 04-24-2006, 02:33 PM.9.10@142 on DOTs thru the mufflers, back when I used to race...

I’m old enough to remember!!!
I have been involved with drag racing for about 20 years and he definitely was one of my heroes!!!! Sorry I missed this thread until now, I read about his passing Saturday night on another drag racing message board.
He WILL be missed.

I saw him several times back in the 60's & 70's. He was the best I've ever seen with a Stick! RIPDon't ask, it's a midlife crises thing.
