Does the Internet rule your life? A study was done.

    This is interesting.

The report surveyed 2,201 Americans and asked them questions about their use of the Internet to make major life decisions. The areas specifically mentioned were: purchasing a new vehicle, making a major financial or investment decision, obtaining additional education or training for oneself or a child, and helping another person deal with a major illness or health condition. On average, 45 percent of Internet users surveyed said the Internet helped them make at least one major decision, up from 40 percent of those who answered the same survey in 2002.

Isn't it weird how much we use the internet for major life decisions? Shopping for a house, for insurance, for colleges, for investing. What did we do before the net??

I was just thinking about this in class today actually. I wonder sometimes what its like to have been able to turn in a regular hand written paper.

now days teachers wont accept the thing if it isnt type and double spaced.

Yeah the internet and comptuer have really changed our lives

Well for me i kinda grew up with it all since im still only 16, but i still see how much it has impacted the world. You can access almost anything you would ever want to on the internet, can research almost anything, hell you can shop on the internet now.

Just think how it would we to go buy something with out beign able to learn about it on the internet... I couldnt do that, because ill spend a week or two researching what im intrested in before even considering going out to buy it

I just mainly use it when I don't want to spend money.

                  It's cheap and pathetic entertainment.

I look forward to going up north where I can throw my cellphone in the glovebox and leave the computer at home.....It's nice not being online.

I used it a ton when buying my house. Think of how many disappointing open houses you can avoid, all the extra driving, etc. You have nearly limitless access to pictures, prices, mortgage calculators, forums to ask opinions, etc.

We spent alot more time in libraries, checking the phone book, talking long-distance, driving around to find stuff. It wasn't very efficient, come to think of it......

I've been into computers since before the 'net. Back in the late-80s & early-90s "bulletin board" and dial-up multi-player game days. It was cool to be messing with digital communications back then, but dial-up multi-player WWII aircraft sims running in DOS? Yeeecchh!! I can't imagine going back to those days, nor would I ever want to. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool technology freak. Onward! I need more bandwidth!

And to think that when I was in high-school in the early 70s, using a slide-rule in math class was okay -- but using a calculator was considered cheating!!
