Yeah, I feel left behind too. I'm not rich, but not exactly poor either. I also refuse to finance any sort of car modification through debt though, and a lot of other people do not feel the same way about that.....

I'm the same way. Pay off debts before toys is my thinking. Nothing wrong with a 1500 fun mod here and there, but I won't do a 5K mod when I still have outstanding debts (7K car loan on the Focus) over my head. Once I pay off the car loan I MIGHT get some fun go fast toys.

I can't modify the crap out of a car and the still have the loaner company own the car. What happens when the car takes a crap because of the go fast toys. Get another loan? Maybe put the money on a credit card and let the balance roll over month after month with a 18 percent interest rate causing the parts cost to compound? Sure would suck if the loaner company came and took their/your project car back because of unpaid monthly payments. It just doesn't make sense to me. Money problems cause me stress so I stay in the safe zone. I was always raised to keep your promise. Signing a paper saying I will pay a loan every month on this day is something I strive to meet. Same with my credit cards. If the bill says 1000 dollars is due at the end of the month, then thats what they get. Minimum payments don't exsist in my train of thought. I would cut the card up if I couldn't afford what I spent for the month.

The people I know usually are either financially secure, or responsibly use their money for their mods. Most of the people I know with fast-er cars... are 19-22 yr olds and I know they worked really hard for their 500+++whp cars. The other ones are 27+ yr olds who have good jobs. Take your pick, make your sacrifices, do your thing. I like working for my stuff and I think my car will show it in the close-er future.

i concur my feelings hurt, that was definately not a warm fuzzy.

Yes i wish i could go back n figure a way to get to college out of HS n attempt to get a good job, I have also seen people do that end up with 60-100k in student loans n work ar Wallmart(ok well not that bad but bad)

I'm in the process of starting my own business venture, though a franchise its still mine, it will most likely take selling my car to ensure longevity heh, but then i suppose its worth it.

debt sux n i fear it, i'm also a cheap bastard i guess is my first problem
