My encounter with a E55 AMG

First of, yes it was a NEW one. I have never really seen one up close before, but they are VERY nice looking, and a tad smaller than what I thought theyd be. This one was black w/ chrome AMG wheels. I was just kinda pacing him on 494N entering Plymouth at about 50mph. he then slowed down to around 45mph or so and messed w/ something on his dash (must have been the trac. controll) he then proceded hit floor it. OMG, they sound amazing and the thing just TOOK OFF!! It was probally one of the fastest cars Ive ever seen take off like that on the highway.. Insane car. Just thought yall would like to know, and props to the owner for using the powa

Those new E55's are amazing! Don't they have somewhere around 450 hp? Hell even the "old" ones were badass, definatley a very fast highway car.

only rated at 469 hp, 500+ft.lbs torque. they actually have less power than the other new 55s because the exhaust is more restrictive. (normal output = 493hp)

"Only" Heh. This thing just kept moving too. Im sure they are geard for the highway too. I am a big BMW guy, but Id have to take a really hard look between this and the BMW ///M5

I have a video of a stock E55 putting the smack down on a bolt-on 03 Cobra.

Just ridiculous.

(I'd rather have a CL600 though. Twin turbo V12 - near 500 hp, almost 600 lbs torque and looks that could make you melt.)

Dont you mean the S600? I know that they have the TT v12, but maybe the CL600 does as well.. And now if only Merc made 5/6 speed manuals instead of the autos.

Yeah the CL600 has the same engine as the S600 but it's a two door instead of four. (I posted another thread about the CL )

04 models have 7 speed autos.
they only put manuals in the cheaper cars.
