well it all started when i tried to add another line. I originally singed up for service with at&t. soon after that they switched to cingular. so when i called to add a line they told me that the only way i could add a line was to start a new contract with cingular, even though on the website it clearly said that old att customers could add lines to thier existing accounts. well after a half hour of argueing with the guy from cingular he finally admitted that i could add a line if i bought an att phone.

after some time and several other issues i was finally fed up and emailed their customer service to find out if i could terminate my contract without paying the ETF's i recieved an email stating that i could but they would have to charge me for the benefits of the contract, like the free nights and weekends and 10 a month extra line discount. I responded with a request to find out what that amount would be. and they said they would research it and get back to me within 24 hours. well i didn't hear anything for a week so i finally called them. The guyy i talked to said it was impossible to get out of the contract without paying ETF's so i asked why i was sent an email say i could. he said the email was wrong. so i called another customer service number and talked to another person who finally admitted that they could do what the email said but he refused to do it for me because it would be "inconvenient for him" he just said to talk to the person who sent me the email. I asked if i could speak with that person (i gave hime the name and the employee number) he said he would not could not help me contact the person.

ok well you get the point, overall not a good experience.

People have gotten to familiar with poor customer service, and have lost the nerve to do anything about it. So now as many other issues, society has ajusted its ways to accept that which should not be acceptable..

People now believe that fighting for proper service is out of the relm of reality, or do not remember what proper customer service is.

Companies now have gone even further to avoid having to have any service. But a product from various retailers, and if that product fails they want you to go direct to the manufacture of that product...

Can you imagine if some other relms of the service industry did that...

            Imagine being at a resturant.
            You, "Excuse me server."
server, "Yes, how can I help you?"
you, "My steak is a lil tuff, and lacks flavor."
server, "Im sorry sir, ill be right back with the phone number of the cattle rancher that raised that cow and you can take your complaint up with him."

It sounds absurd, but thats what actualy happens in todays retail market. Companies no longer take the responsibility that they should when marketing a product. And people have gotten too used to doing nothing about it, so the manufactures and retailers will continue to do it. And it will continue this way untill manufactures and retailers remove themselfs from any responsibility once the product leaves the store or factory.

Ahh I could keep going, this shit just pisses me off...

i just had Deja Vu! I made this exact same "Cingular blows ass, pay the early termination fee, and went to Sprint and bought the A900" thread about 3 weeks ago. I've been VERY happy I left Cingular! There network sucked soo bad in my area that I had accumulated over 4500 rollover minutes since my phone never worked any where and I ended up going over my text messages every month and I had 1000 messages.

Congrats on ditching that shitty service! My A900 is awesome, I've only lost signal once so far and that was in the basement of a bar. But everyone I was wish lost signal there too and they had (T-mobile, Cingular, and Nextel)

That sucks man. You moved from one shithole company to another. Got to love sprint where they show no appreciation towards their customers. 1 day late with your bill? Oh we'll just shut your phone off.

T-Mobile or Verizon is the best in Minnesota, probably overall.

yeah i talked to the guy at sprint about the battery. he said they have had alot of complaints about short battery life but it is more because of all the downloading and tv watching that people do when they first get the phone. it just drains it faster. if you just use the phone as a phone it last about as long as most other phones.

Yeah I was going to go to T-mobile instead of sprint, but I figured I'll just set it up so they take the money out of my account everymonth so I won't get shut off. That is as long as they don't start overcharging me. The EFT is only $150 to get out if I really hate them. But soo far the service is a ton better. Havent' had to deal with customer service yet tho.

The battery really sucks at first,it wouldn't even make it a whole day at first, but once you turn the GPS off, and have gone through a couple charging cycles, it will last for about 2 days if you are not constantly playing with it or using it. I just charge mine every night when I go to bed tho. Not that big of a deal once you get used to it.

Maybe it's just your shitty credit or something. I've been over a month late on my bill and still had service with Sprint. Having been across the country in one way, shape or form, Sprint has the best service, period. Everybody has one thing or another to bitch about with any company. It's like trying to argue what the best beer is, you'll get as many responses as possible.
                          Is this tcstangs.com or tcconsumersreport.com?

As for the customer service issue. Yes companies don't really give a shit about CS as much as they did in the past. I blame it partially on outsourcing and the 'Not My Responsibility' mentality of todays companies. See people, this is another prime example on why it should still be acceptable to beat your kids. </rant off>

I've had sprint for two years now and have to say I have no complaints about Cs or service. I've been happy with it overall, got better coverage than when I had my t-mobile plan. As far as the billin thing I believe you can change that it depends if you have a "spending limit" option with ur plan activate or not. I believe you can have that shut off but I'm not sure.
