I went 50% overseas beginning of last year. 40% domestic, and 10% bonds.
I should probably be higher in bonds, but figure it's offset by dividend paying domestic utilities(automatic dividend reinvestment is no-commission).
If your not saving anything, 401k's are a great place to start if offered by your company. All of the above is just my opinion.
