Buying a (not street legal) race car and getting it titled?

So I might be trading my ZXT for a 240Z race car + a bunch of parts.

Question is, I will probably need to apply for a title since the car has been raced for the past 15+ years.

The car is also not street legal right now, it has no headlights, full roll cage and window nets instead of side glass...I think the front windshield might be lexxan, but I'm not 100% sure.

Anyone know if the govt makes a fuss about getting plates on a car like this? Granted before I drive it on the street I'll get some form of headlights back in it.

For reference....I just so happen to have a picture of it on my wall....I also just so happen to be the stud in the passenger side holding the checkered flag. The car was sold from a member of the MN Z club to a guy in Illinois, and now I might be bringing it back.

It shouldn't be a big deal at all to get it licensed. Its just like buying a car from somebody. Sign the title over, buy some plates and then go have some fun in it. I doubt that they will want to inspect the car.

So the title has been lost for 15 years or it hasn't had plates?

Well when the car is either in a garage, on a trailer or on a racetrack its really not worth titling and keeping tabs/plates is it?

Its very common for a race car to be done with just a bill of sale.

It not being plated isn't an issue, but not having a title is.
