    Medical insurance providers?

Who is everyone using? Good or bad reviews? Let's here it. I'm approaching 30 and a recent medical scare convinced me that I better get some insurance.

I had Major Medical through Blue Cross when my employer didn't provide it, I was 22 when I got it and non-smoker in good health and I paid $170 a month (and couldn't even write it off ), with a $1000 deductible, and I never had to use it in 3 years. This was no vision or dental, Insurance is a ripoff.

I have HealthPartners (I think). I also have my medical insurance fully covered through my work.

LoL! Even if I wanted to join the service, I couldn't. I'm too fat and have asthma. Also have a bad knee.

Holy shit that's a lot of money, Nick! I agree medical is a rip off, but after the scare I just had, I think it might be worth it. There's gotta be cheaper stuff out there. That's why I made this thread, I'd like to hear some price averages, deductables, service, etc.

C.O.B.R.A. insurance is even worse. The medical kind not the car insurance kind.

Yeah its totally worth it if something goes wrong. Someone was telling me about a state offered program possibly called "Cobra"? I don't much about it tho. Might be worth looking into.

I just did a little reading about Cobra. Apparently it's only a temporary program that allows you to keep coverage in the event that you get terminated or laid off from your job. So if you have coverage through your employer, it gives you the right to continue the coverage up to 30 days after your termination.

COBRA is good if you want to pay insane prices for medical insurance. I think it's a scam and you're better off saving your money. For instance, my roommate was offered COBRA insurance after leaving one of his jobs. $480 bucks a month. Of course, he declined.
