Whoa, big fella. Come on now. This is beginning to sound like the young lady who wrote the article. I think Corinthian was merely using the term "reparations" loosely in that he redefined it to me "just don't do that anymore". I don't hear from him the old, "poor me..." treatment. He's an upstanding guy. I think his head is on straight. Agree with his politics or not, he is no victim. I'd say he is exactly what we should be - understanding. Understanding of what was and why it was wrong then and would be now. Understanding that times were different and education about what was right was missing. A different time. Today, we are much better. But racism will always exist in the hearts and small minds of some people. Don't attack casinos - that sounds envious.

I half agree with you. But blacks have had the shit end of the stick most recently in history, and they still do to some degree. It's easy for me to avoid racism...I just stay the hell out of the ghetto. For balcks, it's a little harder since it's everywhere they go. I'm not saying that they (or anyone) should get reparations or some shit like that, but you should recognize that racism is still lingering in today's society, and therefore the term ****** still hits home for many black people.

Racisim is not just black. What about the Jews in WWII or throughout history. It's called Anti-semetic in these cases, but it is racism. What about the native americans? We can NEVER move forward if people keep reaching BACKWARD to talk about what was not fair back then to justify behavior today. One must STOP the crap. Recognize what was bad then and correct it now. Move forward. History is already done. Can't be changed. As for terms still hitting home, people have to let stuff slide. Seriously, it's only a word. SADLY, people continue to ATTEMPT to make a case that somebody is OWED something for the suffering of peoples long since past. This can NEVER work and will NEVER succeed. This ONLY breeds further divisions.

We exist and are defined by a philosophy and core belief that all men are created equal. We can't mandate that nobody ever think differently, but we uphold the priniciple and it endures.

The difficulty you seem to have is that it appears you are focusing on the OUTCOME of equality rather than the process and opportunity for equality. Since we can't control everything some person will think, we can only stand by the prinicple and hope to influence. Some stuff does not go right. Some people don't like to play nice. That's life. stick by your prinicples and things will work out for the best...

Scot, stop it. Giving away? Who is "giving away" millions to these "undeserving" people? IS this government? Oh...it's PRIVATE CITIZENS who freely go to casinos in MN and other places to gamble. The fact that these casinos reside on the land of a sovereign nation is secondary. Nobody is "giving" anyone anything. It's called commerce.
