NAPA in Osseo or Tractor Supply in South St. Paul have the D rings you need. You can buy weld on or bolt on. Mount them on the sides front and back.

You could just hook the strap hooks to the open ends of the side tubes of your trailer, too. That would work.

The hooks won't lock that way. When the car shifts, I'd say the strap has a chance to come out.

I'd agree with John here Clay, Strap that Nugga down hard and tight (do it crosswise ; left front, right rear, right front left rear)

-Just back the trailer up straight with the driveway. Then hop in the 7 and let it roll onto the trailer. I would let it sit more toward the back and put tons of shit in front of it between the front bumper and the front of the trailer.

Northern Tool in Rodgers didn't have any D-Rings when I went there.

There are some pics of weld on ones in this thread when I was looking to buy some. 6-9 bucks a piece.

I've strapped cars that way many times without incident. If it's strapped properly and tight, the car shouldn't shift around. After all, that IS the point of strapping it down. I trailered Kevins (badzpacecar) Pace Car Camaro all the way from North Carolina like that with only one strap on the front and one on the back. On that same trip I had a Tahoe on the trailer strapped the same way that I dropped off in South Carolina. I agree D-rings or something would be nice, but what he has will work fine.

P.S. Cletus, I prefer to strap to the suspension of the car instead of the frame. With the straps on the frame, as the car bounces downward the straps slack up and can eventually loosen and in some cases break. Some prefer one way or the other, but my personal preference is to go to the suspension. i.e. the rearend housing and front control arms.

5-Door. Just because a strap didn't come off, means it good practice.

Cletus. The Axle straps and Race straps I got at Northern tool work great..............
