I don't see how putting out a new record that is good makes them uncool.

I've been a green day fan since middle school. All of their records kickass. I'm a stout conservative and I'm not offended by any of their music off the American Idiot record. If you listen to the entire thing it's NOT an anti-bush record by any means.. it's far far from it.

I think the song "american idiot" makes some good points actually about us. Calling them 'commies' is just ignorant.

Redneck agenda? A lot of southern rednecks have a lot of money and an agenda. I'm right wing, bug i'm not ULTRA right wing. I think that's who they were taking a shot at. I don't see how that's all that offensive.

I think you are reading too much into it. He's calling the govenment leaders "rednecks"...plain and simple.

He's keeps mentioning "paranoia" and "propaganda". Is he insinuating that the threat from Iraq was all propaganda and paranoia? a.k.a. more antiwar BS?

I any case, he is saying that Amerians are brainwashed by the media, and while that might be true for many people, it is no worse here than it is in other countries. Like other countries son't have propaganda? So by singling out America, he is just showing his anti-American sentiment.
